Replace your GM bellhousing clutch release arm pivot with either the original style, or an adjustable version.
This is the original height pivot for GM / CHevy bellhousings. It works for many factory clutch situations. However, for more range of adjustment, consider the adjustable pivot, below.
This adjustable release arm pivot is our recommendation. It gives height variability, allows more distance from the rear of the release arm to bellhousing window for greater articulation and reduced strain on the bellhousing boot.
This is GM's retention style pivot for release arms that have a hole drilled through their pivot. Some of these arms did not feature a spring clip, and in some cases, installers may choose to ditch the spring clip for this style.
Installation is the same as a stock part. The adjustable version requires setting the height and locking position.
We strongly recommend that the installer read our Guide to Clutches, Linkages & Bellhousings, to best understand the above arms and the clutch system, generally. Throws and clearances are discussed there and adherence to those methods will yield a successful installation.
