This bracket assembly bolts to the engine flange of GM automatics, as an anchor for the factory Jeep console cable shifter. This permits the installer to keep and use their factory Cherokee or Wrangler shifter when doing a GM automatic swap, and is best used in conjuction with the #ACA-1802 arm in Related Products, below.
Because Jeep cables transition ambiguously around 2004, we are providing both early "O-shaped" and late "U-shaped" styles of the bracket in the kit for you to choose from.
Of note: if you have the later "U-shaped" cable housing end and your factory retention clip is broken or lost, ask your Jeep dealer for the #68018106AA clip from 2007-2018 JK's, which are compatible, as they may not list one for a TJ.
you will need to shave the RND21 detents off your shift console detents ("rooster tail") and rely on the feel of the detents in the GM automatic, as the Jeep shifter detents don't sync up with the GM detents in the transmission. This is not a difficult task nor a problem for operation.
Console shifters can have a new Mylar indicator printed by a printer of the installer's choosing.
Adjustable Shift Arm for GM Hydramatics
This bellcrank arm is machined from aluminum billet, and is splined to match the included spline hub which attaches to the GM sector shaft on the driver's side of the transmission. The arm can be set by this mechanism to achieve the best mechanical advantage over its sweep, in relation to the angle of the shifter rod or cable, as applicable.
Steering Column Shift Indicator Retrofit
For Jeep models using GM Saginaw steering columns from the 1970's into the early 1990's (YJ, CJ, FSJ, etc), you can replace your steering column indicator with a unit like this to better match a 700R4, 4L60E or 4L80E four-speed automatic. This particular kit is by Ididit. There are other brands as well.
