These are hard swaps for CJ's. The 241's are large and long and most of them (except a few early models) put the front output on the driver's side, requiring an axle swap. While it is possible to put an aftermarket SYE kit on the 241 to shorten it up, we still think it is hands-down better to keep the Dana 300 that you've got.
Additionally, you would - in most cases - need to swap the input gear to a 27 spline input as most 241's are 32 spline.
Yes: there's the expense of the Dana 300 adapter, but the economics come out overall better and the swap and maintenance headaches are fewer.
