My question is how much overall length would your 700r4 kit shorten my combo. I'm thinking of going to a 1998 305 and I already have my engine mounts as far forward as I can go. My engine, transmission, transfer case is out of a 89 s10 blazer. It has the original GM transmission to transfer case adapter. I would like to keep my drive shat as long as possible. Thanks

If the 4.3L is cheated a bit forward (our MMX mounts give this freedom, you should see a pretty noticeable gain in driveshaft length. Some numbers:

Chevy V8 engines typically install 3 to 3.5" further forward than I6 and I4 factory engines. The Chevy V6 can gain you another 2". So, the engine alone could net you around 5".

The Novak adapter will buy you 2 more inches, but is only compatible with the Jeep NP231.
