If the 4.3L is cheated a bit forward (our MMX mounts give this freedom, you should see a pretty noticeable gain in driveshaft length. Some numbers:
Chevy V8 engines typically install 3 to 3.5" further forward than I6 and I4 factory engines. The Chevy V6 can gain you another 2". So, the engine alone could net you around 5".
The Novak adapter will buy you 2 more inches, but is only compatible with the Jeep NP231.
