stan2026 When changing transmissions one of the things to look for are the output shaft stick out length. Some transmissions had flush output shafts on the rear housing and others had about 1/2 inch stick out. This comes into play when mating the transfer case to the transmission. Another point to look at is replacing the transmission with another Jeep transmission, or verifying that the manual transmission desired can be converted or used with the Jeep engine and Jeep transfer case. Manual transmission options are not as common as automatics for this year of Jeep.
