Option I: Replacing the 4.0L I6 Engine Ease of Installation
These mounts are a purely bolt-in design when replacing the 4.0L I6 engine. If you're replacing the 2.5L I4 engine, use the provided weld-on frame horns in the specified location and bolt the remainder of the assembly together.
Strength
The Novak mounts feature a thick 3/16 steel construction and a welded box design for the maximum strength available. They employ the best engineering and geometry to assure that they'll survive even the wildest V8's.
Placement
We have predetermined engine placement for the installer. There is a very fine window in which the Ford Small Block V8 can properly fit into a TJ Jeep, and we've done this design legwork already.
Compactness
The mounts keep themselves out of the way of the steering and its pillow block, allowing the installer to keep the entire Jeep steering system intact and undisturbed. They will also clear the exhaust headers we recommend, our Ford V8 blockhuggers. Clearance from all other retained factory components is also excellent.
Vibration Isolation
Each mount kit comes with our high-grade urethane isolators that are gauged well for that ideal balance of isolation and firmness. The large, graded 5/8” bolts and all associated hardware are included. Additionally, Novak will always be here to inexpensively provide replacement urethane bushings, if needed - years down the road.

Corrosion Resistance
Our #MMTJ mounts are black zinc coated for resistance against corrosion. However, if you have a certain theme to your installation, you may enamel, powercoat or otherwise finish the bracketry to your own style.
Installation Notes
The existing I6 frame horns will be trimmed back the specified amount with a cutoff wheel or reciprocating saw. Factory I4 frame horns will need to be removed entirely and replaced with the versions we send. We recommend the installer seal up the cut with a black enamel for corrosion protection. The installer may use the provided 7/16 transverse thru bolts or use a plug weld, as per preference.
